The Ukrainian Academy of Architecture and the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv” have signed a cooperation agreement
On November 17, 2021 in the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv” an organizational meeting was held in ZOOM with the participation of representatives:
- Public organization “Ukrainian Academy of Architecture”,
- National Conservation Areas: “St. Sophia of Kyiv”, “Hlukhiv”;
- National historical and cultural Conservation Areas: “Kachanivka”, “Chyhyryn”, “Hetman’s capital”, “Ternopillia Castles”.
The meeting discussed urgent issues in the field of cultural heritage protection and the activities of Conservation Areas, as well as finding ways to solve them.
The Ukrainian Academy of Architecture has initiated the creation of a permanent advisory body – the Council of Conservation Areas at the public organization “Ukrainian Academy of Architecture”, which by virtue of its tasks will be able to help solve problems in the field of cultural heritage protection and Conservation Areas development.
The participants of the meeting considered and approved the proposed Regulations on the Council of Conservation Areas at the Public Organization “Ukrainian Academy of Architecture” and unanimously voted for its creation. Previously, this issue was supported by the National Conservation Areas “Ternopillia Castles” and “Khortytsia”.
The next issue was to discuss the possibility of legal registration through the signing of a cooperation agreement.
For a better acquaintance with each Conservation Area, the President of the Ukrainian Academy of Architecture, Doctor of Architecture O.S. Sleptsov was asked to create an album, which will contain brief historical information about the Conservation Areas and information about their activities. This proposal was also supported by the participants.
In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed between “Ukrainian Academy of Architecture” and National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv”.
