The delegation of the World Council of Churches (WCC) visited National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv”

These days, a tour was organized for the delegation of the World Council of Churches (WCC), led by the head of the organization, Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca and his deputy, Odair Pedroso Mateus, in the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv”.

Accompanied by the general director of the Conservation Area, Nelia Kukovalska, and the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, Olena Bohdan, the guests viewed the architectural ensemble of museum, the mosaic image of Mother of God Orans, the sarcophagus with the remains of Yaroslav the Wise’s wife Ingegerd, and a prism with a modern image of Yaroslav the Wise.

After that, talks between representatives of the World Council of Churches and the State Service of Ukraine on Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience took place in the Metropolitan’s Residence.
