Gas pipeline bypassed Sophia of Kyiv

On November 19, 2021 work on the removal of the main gas pipeline outside the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv” was completed. The 450 mm diameter pipe has passed through the territory of St. Sophia Cathedral since 1949. For a long time, the management of the Conservation Area sought to move the transit highway beyond its borders. Finally, according to Vadym Kyrylenko, First Deputy General Director of the Conservation Area, the long-term work has been completed 100%. The dismantled section of the highway is filled with concrete.
