CONGRATULATIONS ON INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY!

Every year, the International Council of Museums makes this holiday thematic, choosing the main theme to attract public attention. This year’s quarantine measures forced museums to work remotely and celebrate the holiday in the same format! Therefore, the theme of the International Museum Day – 2020, entitled “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”, focuses on networking and its inclusive part.

So, what have the circumstances in which the world museum community founds itself shown?! We believe that they have debunked the stereotype of a static museum and proved that museums can present themselves in different ways, and most importantly – accessible to everyone, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic background, physical abilities, religious beliefs… Museum staff have invented (and continue to invent) a variety of ways to virtually communicate with their visitors. Of course, a lot of work is still ahead, but the start was quite successful!
