On November 21, Christians honor the heavenly warrior Archangel Michael. The full name of the holiday is the Council of Archangel Michael and other Heavenly disembodied forces. The disembodied forces of heaven are called angels and archangels, and Michael is in charge of them. This archangel is of special importance for Ukrainians, because Michael is considered the patron saint of Kyiv.

St. Michael’s Day in 2021 falls on a Sunday, so the best way to celebrate the holiday is to attend a service or visit the historical and cultural sites of national heritage: the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv”, “Golden Gate”, “St. Andrew’s Church”, “St. Cyril’s Church” and of course St. Michael’s Cathedral.
