On November 17, 2021, a meeting of the Scientific and Restoration Council of the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv” was held under the chairmanship of the head of the scientific and restoration workshop of the Conservation Area, artist-restorer of the highest qualification category, Honored Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Ostapchuk.

The Council accepted the restoration work on the restoration of monumental paintings in the northern part of the western inner gallery of St. Sophia Cathedral, restored slate sarcophagus of Princess Olga, which is stored in St. Sophia Cathedral (ground floor, south side), restoration work on fixing discovered by archaeologists near the outer side of the north-eastern part of St. Sophia Cathedral, seven restored storage units of the “Architectural Graphics” collection group.

The meeting also considered and approved proposals for further conservation of the archaeological excavation (apses) for the winter of 2021–2022 and the program of restoration of two compartments in the northern part of the choirs of St. Sophia Cathedral.
